There is a piece you can get from MSD (I think) that uses a 351 ford Dist. Check out project blue hair from horsepowertv.com and see if there is a link there.

The parts for the distributor set-up are NOT made or available from MSD. Msd DOES make 2 different boxes, 6010 and 6012 that will run the LS engines. Much cheaper and (IMHO), much simpler than the distributor set-up. Also has built in retard provisions and programable timing curves. Anyway, the distributor stuff is actually made by(I think) Wegner Motorsports and is available from them and also GM performance parts dealers such as Summit and SDPC, among others.

I preffer the MSD distributorless ignition system as well. You can set and monitor all of the timing via laptop. It shows it as a line graph two different tables one for base timing the other for vacuum advance, as well as showing your engine vacuum in psia, engine voltage. Plus you can use the coil on coil ignition setup the LSx uses which is hard to beat with a distributor.

Maybe I did'nt say that the way I meant it, or explain it right. The parts you mentioned are in fact available. Project "blue hair" did, as you say use a distributor set-up on their 6.0 Nova?, and it does use a Ford type distributor. It sits up front on the LS type engines and it uses spacers for the water-pump and a different crank pulley, which all combine to lengthen the engine what looks like about 3 inches. To my knowledge, the only one who makes this is Wegner Motorsports, but as I said, you can buy it from GM. What I'm really wondering about as I re-read the first post is how he is going to use the FI throttle body with either set-up???

i have already been through all this,i will get pics up as soon a i can,if you want to go dist. you need a GM timing cover, that allows a Ford 302 distributor to stab through the top of it.mine is really complex because i am running an electric Mezeire WP,and spacers from Wegner have to be used to kick the pump out in front of the distributor.i will warn you that the timing cover you need is around 400 bucks because it comes with a special gear that comes in contact with your camshaft.

WHile there is a set up available to use a distributor in an LS motor. It is for use with a carb to simplify the ignition system so any idiot can work on it. If you are keeping the FI which it appears you are, your better off staying with the stock individual coil set up. If you would like a cleaner look for the valve covers, I'd recomend a remote mount set-up.
