Default confused on "return line"

I'm hooking up a 1998 LS1 in a 1997 camaro (formerly V6). The LS1 is "returnless", yet the 1998 LS1 fuel pump has a return line... On all the diagrams that I've seen the motor has two lines that connect to it: the chassis fuel feed line & the chassis EVAP line. From the fuel pump I know that the "vent valve hose" mounts on body near the tank, the fuel feed goes through the filter to the engine compartment fuel feed pipe, and the EVAP pipe runs into the EVAP canister which has the EVAP purge line going to the purge selenoid on teh motor...but how/where does the "return line" hook up? I feel as if I'm complicating this... Thanks

It dead heads to the fuel rails with a T just in front of the rear diff that returns the fuel to the tank. It works pretty much like the diagram below.
