Just out of curiosity, how are you going to make the stock speedometer cable and gear work with the new transmission?

what transmission crossmember did you use? I plan on doing a similar swap here shortly, but I am going to be using a 4l80e hich is a few inches longer, Im hoping I can just mod the th400 xmember instead of getting something 1-off fabbed up

did get teh trans in yet because its been cold and i'am lazy lol . heres some pictures of the headers . I'am going to 90 the 3rd pipe to get that sharp pipe out since it hits the block and its very hard to get in place. Also i found that i cant weld for nothing but it will work for a while.

i'll post some more when i move the pipe again and see how it fits. I will be move the brake lines and power boster to make it cleaner and easy to get to everything but iam sure you dont need to

I bought the headers for 180.00 and the flanges 50.00, 2 j pipes 30.00

thanks ,i'am having a hard time getting the header in now so i pulled the brake boost to make more room and i'am pulling the engine to bolt the th400 up. I hope it drops in with the trans nice and easy so i can drop the header in place while its out

i'll let you know for sure next week when i get back home. I 'am pulling the engine and bolting the trans to it to try to drop it in that way. Cannt get any help and dont feel like laying in the grass to try to lift it my self.

Just by eye it looks like it would fit easy but we will see
