Its 3'' collector into a 2.5 reducer with turn downs. If you look at this pic you can see the turn downs near the cross member

Hey 6L whats up with the K&N looking filter on your pass. valve cover? Is that in place of the factory fill cap? It looks alot better than the stock fill tube, and would be interested in what you did to make it fit and what the filter is from

The Truck filler neck has a bend in it and come up vertical I cut the neck just below the bend, took it to the local parts store/ speed shop and found a K&N breather that fit over it. You can buy a nice alum. base screw in filter from Thunder Racing but I'm cheap.

Nice touch of pure hot rodding there! Most people these days wont deal with something if they can just buy off the shelf! Nice work on the car as well!

I did almost the same thing. I left the filler neck intact I just took a hole saw and cut the center out of the cap and stuck a push in filter in it. Then I ran a few screws through the cap into the bottom of the filter to keep it secure.

It's good to see someone say that. It seems like alot people just want to buy&bolt and not put a little thought into it anymore. It's what make a "hotrod" your own.

Iron heads? The lq9 heads are better than those stock ls1 heads. I haven't seen an ls motor with iron heads.

Nice car, btw.

I agree 100%. I had a sticker That said " Its Not What You Buy Its What You Build " on my first vehical which was a 82 GMC reg cab long bed that I loved but it was a horrible brown color with no clear coat any where, I had built my first engine 355 pump gas motor, roller rockers, small cam, long tubes, yada yada yada. It wasnt pretty but it was mine and I built it.

Thanks, I built the headers in my garage. Started off with a box of Jbends from Summit some flanges, and a set of Hooker collectors.
