the spacer gives the convertor snout support. If you bolted the spacer under the flywheel then the ring gear doesn't line up with the starter.

the spacer goes behind the flex plate if you are using a flat 6.0l flexplate. Under it for the dished 5.3l flexplate.

i ordered one from a GM dealer with that number and they got it for me in about 3 days.

My 6.0 flex plate is dished. So you mean it goes in front of it
