Default G body headers options

Geting ready to do a LS1 swap into a 87 Monte SS. I know some have said the F body headers work with some mods, I was wondering if anyone had tried GTO headers?? They don't turn out like the F body headers do, but I assume otherwise they are the same.

The biggest issue with the GTO LT's is going to be the way they are routed around the steering rack. I can take a moment tomorrow and take my GTO headers and try and fit them in my '87 SS out back of the shop and see. But I don't have an engine block and mounts to go by.

I used Fbody shorty headers. Plenty of room.

My question is drop mounts, I would like to lower the motor about 2 inches?

I'll have to take another look at the GTO headers as I was not aware of problems with the steering rack.

Not really interested in shorties.

Only thing I don't like about the F body headers is the driver side one not pointing straight.

Pacesetter on the left, Kooks on the right. Kooks is a far better header. But the Pacesetters are cheap and have a tighter tube design around the rack. Which may make it better for the G-body.

I know these ones fit, though kinda expensive, easy and direct bolt up. Good luck

What kind of mounts are you using?

These are the same that I have...with their mounts, of course.
