LS2 Swap into 62 Impala
Word to the wise: unless you need the 65 -ish lb weight advantage of a car's aluminum block, stick with the 5.3 truck engines. Smart shopping, with mileage the same, the cost difference will buy the accessory brackets and then some (a lot of some). Similar power is only as far away as a cam and springs, along with the intake / rail / injectors you were going to replace anyway and the generic tune you need to remove security and such.
My budget t bird swap was completed for less than the difference between the price of my 5.3 engine compared to the two years older, higher mileage 5.7 vette engine sitting on the crate next to it.
It's your wallet and maybe your pockets are deeper than mine but with a little paint, the a fore mentioned mods and some Corvette coil covers no one but you will know the difference.

Speaking of wallets, S&P sells nice stuff but make sure your wallet is full when you talk to them because they will extensively lighten it!
Thanks!
8 E3 Spark Plugs
New Plug Wires
Steel Braided Trans Lines and AN fittings for trans and Intercooler
Lokar Shift Linkage
Lokar Fire Wall mount Trans Dip Stick
New Wheel Studs for the Rear
1/4" Wheel Spacers for the Rear
Front Disc Conversion Brackets (Had to go back to stock spindles, I guess i will have a new conversion kit for the drop)
2 69 Nova Front Disc Rotors
2 Pirelli Scorpion Tires 295/30R-22 ($$$$ could have bought at least 16 13" tires!!!!!!)
All tires now mounted and balanced
Removed rear axles to drill out holes for new studs (had to get a 33/64 drill bit, try finding one of those around at ur nearest Home Depot or Lowes. Had to get it at a specialty tool store $25, now completed)
Installed axles and rear disc conversion, mount rear rims, and new brake lines.

Studs installed on the axles and axles back in.

Slotted rotors on, gonna paint calipers tomorrow while they are off.

So as it turns out, i dont need the spacers anymore, so i will return them. And as u see the studs are longer, but since i dont need the spacers, i will just cut them down to size.

Thought i was gonna work on the car this afternoon, until the fleetwood radiator got a hole and the damn thermostat had to be replaced.:icon_evil: So just got finished doing that.
I still havent got any sleep, so im out. Gotta get up early!!!!

I'm going to be running a b body tank on my 63. Had to get rid of the lower tub though. It will fit between the frame rails.
