S10 Long tubes!!!!!
About a year and a half ago I built a conventional small block S10 and sold it about 6 months later. The guy that bought it has turned out to be one of my best customers, and now we are going to put a 383 LS1 in it. Today I received a set of BRP 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 step headers. He has a few more races he wants to attend while the motor goes together. Hopefully by the end of Feb. the project will be underway. Here are a few pics of the headers and what they are going in.

No problem, best 60' with the old combo is 1.46, the suspension consist of stock 4cyl coil springs with Belltech spindles, and Lakewood 90/10 shocks in the front. The rear has 3" Belltech dropped leafs with a 1" lowering block, caltracs, and Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. With the conventional small block the truck weighs 3000lbs with all of the A/C components still intact. The trans is a turbo 350 with a 3400 convertor, and the rear is a 8.5" with 4:10's.

Wow... those are definitely a race header. I wouldn't want them on a street car, Heddman Headers are terrible. Cheap thin tubes, and Every set I have seen ends up leaking. Even seen welds crack a few times.

These are not your average set of $100.00 off the shelf Hedmans, they have a thick flange, are coated, and appear to be very well built. Not too worried about problems with them. With the two tubes wrapping the frame they would not be very practicle for a truck with wide wheels on the front, but this truck only sees street duty on the weekends and raced often.

hmmmm
i was looking for a set of long tubes last year when i found my sanderson shorties how would those work with a a/c box and everything still intact under the hood?then the next question is what was the price tag? i would much rather have longtubes than shorties.

They will still work with the A/C, the only problem you will run into is if you try to run a wheel wider than 8". The 1 3/4'" headers have only one tube wrapping the frame, they have a set of 1 5/8" mid-length headers also that stay inside the frame. The 1 3/4 - 1 7/8, 1 7/8 and 2" all have two tubes that wrap. The cost for the stepped headers were more than the standard sizes, but they were still only around $800.00. I am very pleased with the quality, and can't wait to see how well they fit.
