Default some help please.

im just trying to do homework on a build i want to start.

the car is an 87 iroc tpi. not the one in sig.

i want to drop and lq9 with some l92 heads with a nice sized cam. the intake would be carbed. the victor jr. or something along those lines. now my question is, can i go carbed with this motor running a t56 and still keep my stock harness. so that my gauges and everything work? or will i have to swap my car to an lsx harness aswell?

edit... or i might have answered my own question. i need the lsx harness to keep the coil pack set up. correct?

I had an 89 with 4L80. It had a mechanical speedo. So the T56 electronic output may be a problem. You should be able to use your OEM gauge senders on the motor, I dont think any of them went through the computer. You wont need the computer and a lot of the old wiring, but it might be easier if you reused your old alternator, AC compressor and the wiring associated.
When you get the Edelbrock or MSD controler, it comes with a harness that plugs into the coil packs, cam/crank sensors, and MAP sensor. So you should be able to splice that into your current harness.

hmmmmm..cool!

so sounds like lq9, l92 heads, custom cam unless g5x3 fits with these heads, and some kinda carbed LSx style intake with msd controler. with my 700r4 tranny.

sound like it will make some power? also when switching to carb. what special do i need to do to my fuel tank and pump?
