My 68 is by no means pretty at all and would be considered 'hacked up' but it ROLLS. going fast reliably is more important than looking mint. He's going with the functionality as his main concern. Everything done on his truck and my car was done with a 110 wire flux core welder, or 110 stick welder, outside in the grass for me, on some pavement and grass for him, no shop, all cuts by sawzall or cutting wheel although i think he borrowed a 110 plasma cutter at some point for his suspension.
Aaron feels alot like me, get the car running right, then go back and make it look nice. Im glad i didnt fix my car all up right away as i built the car as there was alot of welding i did to the frame, cutting out of rust, the new rear i put in was about an inch shorter so i had to mini-tub the car to fit my new rear, first launch with the new 30x14 MTs knocked the rear off of the locating pins and slammed it into my wheel wells which i hadnt finished anyway, would have been a waste of time.
This truck is going to be awesome. Not everything can be done perfect right away. Aaron just had a kid, is doing this in his driveway, works 60 hours a week, and is a pool builder/service technician haha. We dont have access to shops full of $500,000 in tools, lifts, or even a roof over our projects so no, they are not going to be like your rich-guy pay-someone to do it swaps.
