I wouldnt know what to think if that went flying by me on the highway.. it would def be one of those wtf just happened moments. lol
its pretty cool tho I guess but I wonder what it runs. 1000rwhp sounds cool but how fast it is is more important, and I have a feeling it only shines at 60+ rolls..

A very nicely done swap. 1000hp is a good effort no matter what the motor. On the video it didn't seem to be that quick when he gunned it, the couple of 1000+hp cars I've seem torch the tyres if you hit the gas at most sane speeds

Here's the video. You can hear the waste gate letting loose every time he lets off the gas. Regardless the car is very nice...

At least they picked what 'arguably' is the best import motor out there. The 2JZ is what the 03/04 Cobra 4.6 is, both are capable of big big power on the stock block. If it would fit, and someone would fabricate everything for me for free I'd swap in a 2JZ with a big single any day of the week.

Just like anyone can call about 30 of the sponsors and make 750 N/A. They throw turbos, we throw cubic inches.

And is it not cool when someone turbos an LS1?

Only here would people snoot their nose at 1000 HP. Ironic considering the majority have what, 400?

Since this thread is all about swaps that don't make sense, let's add this one to the mix:

See, the difference here is that the V8 made the civic better/cooler. I think most people arent sure if that supra motor made the camaro either better or cooler. We're like: "wow, 1000 hp very cool... what?... it's an asian import motor?!?! why? how? this shouldnt be... its not fair!! (insert rolling of hte floor kicking and pounding temper tantrum) <sob, sob>"

Myself, I'm kind of sitting here drooling like a baby seal who just got clubbed on the head wondering why the big man with the stick keeps hitting me.

...Not really. That reaction only seems to be coming from the people that can't appreciate other peoples work.

It's a motor, in a car, making a lot of power. Beyond that, apply brand filters and loyalty liberally.

I never thought I'd see american muscle car owners getting as worked up as the german car scene when it comes to motor swaps. Is the same thing going to happen when we see the first dohc v6 from the new camaro swapped into an old beast?

Get the latest issue of "heavy hitters" the guy customizes all sorts of cars and he did this to show his shops customization skills. Its a street driven car when its nice out and its incredibly clean looking.

Would I do it? No....would I drive it if I could? **** YES.

Hey In a Recent HOLLYWOOD MOVIE, they PUT A NISSAN Motor in a 68 Mustang?? LOL

I think I rather have this Camaro... this car is Bad ***.

Great Build. Dare to be different. You guys are giving him just what he wanted. Alot of heat for building a ICON American Car with a import motor.

Is it any worse than a Camaro with a FORD MOTOR ?? I have seen a few...like 2 of them.

Got to laugh at the guys here getting all precious about the swap. As the title says it is a taste of our own medicine.

Now if this was someone buying up pristine classic cars and crushing them, that would **** me off.

PS - I have an LS1 in my Z but had to share this one

Cameron

Goes by ZGAD, has run a best of 8.9x or so. You can find him over on the hybridz forums. Fast is fast no matter what it is or what powers it. If the owner likes it then more power to him (or her).

Whoopty do...another first gen F-body...

To me, a classic car losses its prestige when you can buy it in a crate.

Not saying this is a aftermarket car but those Camaros are almost worse than duece's now, they are all the same. At least this one is different.
