Whats the best way to put an older 4-spd behind a ls I'm looking to put a muncie 4-spd behind my 01 ls6 motor I've heard of machining an original ls flywheel with a spacer behind it, I also found a Mcleod flywheel that adapts the two I think it costs about $425.00. I was looking for a less expensive way any help would be appreciated. thanks, Jerry
Wow never thought about that. I hope you have a M-22, as i don't think a M-20 or M-21 would hold up to the power the LS series puts out, especially when modded. Unless it is in a lightweight car like a 1st gen nova or something. Lookin g forward to seeing a new combo though

I just did this for a Richmond.
Use an LS1 flywheel and clutch. If it's a 26 spline disc, you fine. If it's a 10 spline trans, you'll need to get a 10 spline disc that will work with the LS1 pressure plate. I did find an aftermarket 10 spline disc that should work.
You'll need a 168 tooth BBC or SBC bell housing if you dont have one. I got a BBC 621 bell housing from Keisler that's machined with the extra LS mounting holes and it's got an adjustable stud.
You'll need a longer throwout bearing (Oreileys #614037). The short ones will result in poor throwout arm alignment.
And use an LS7 pilot bushing.
That will allow you to use a Muncie withan LS and your manual linkage.
