Default Chevelle or Camaro for new project?

I have found a 68 Camaro and a 68 Chevelle SS at the same price and pretty much the same condition.

Which one do you guys recomend me to buy?

I know nothing about Chevelles, don't know if there are as much parts as are for Camaros.

FYI: I am puting a LS engine in it.

Thanks for your help.

Pics as reference:

I voted Chevelle, since everyone & their poodle has an F-body... (including me...)

I would say 68 Camaro only because the LS-1 came in a Camaro.

What do you plan to do with it? Driver, Street Strip, Pro Touring, Race car? If you plan to race it, the Camaro can be built lighter. If you ever plan to take someone in the back seat or need trunk space the Chevelle would be a better choice. Lots of re-popped and custom parts available for both of them. This seems like a personal choice thing to me, go with what you like.

is the chevelle a true SS? if so I'd be hesitant to put a ls1 in it (you can tell if its a factory SS in 68 by checking the first 3 numbers of the VIN iirc 138 is an SS and)

I don't like the 68 chevelle as much as 69-71, especially the vent windows, but 68 is my favorite year for the camaro so I voted camaro, they're also usually lighter

I would have to say chevelle cause i am partial to them plus there is more room in them and they are a full frame car. Plus i have a 70 chevelle as well.

Depending on the condition of the 68 chevelle it can be hard to find parts since alot of things were 1 yr only parts. I know I am working on a 68 Chevelle SS Convertible right now.

Depends on what you want. Full racing chevelle because full frame. Otherwise I would say camaro.

I am not to fond of the 68 camaro though and I love the chevelle 68/69 and especially 70. Not 71 and 72 as much so i am biased.
