I've got a Heidts front end and I've got an LS1 w/6sp from a '99 Firebird, installed in the Nova! The drivers side exhaust manifold and catalytic converter fit fine, but the passenger side doesn't. Is there a stock manifold that dumps out in front of the rear cylinder like the drivers side?

If the Z06 manifolds don't work out, the 00-02 F-body exhaust manifold moves the exit several inches forward compared to the 98-99 manifold. The later manifold is on top.

Hey 67Pete,
What motor mounts and trans crossmember did you use for your swap. I am going to pick up an 01'camaro LS1 and 6 speed this week. Did you have to cut the floor to get the trans in there. Thanks
P.S. I got a 66'with a TCI front clip

Speartech:
The flange really needs to be about where the middle two ports are, that would dump the exhaust more like straight down in front of the stater yet not into the frame / engine mount. As it is with the top(pictured) manifold the flange would go about 2" thru the subframe plate on the firewall,so the bottom unit would dump right into the plate.Hopefully the LS6 exhaust would do that!
troutdog:
I'm using Street & Performance adaptors that increase the heigth approximately 1/4" (thickness of the plates)to that of the standard chevy motor mount. I also offset the passenger side about 3/4" to compensate for that and the fact that the engine SHOULD be offset to the pasenger side to match the tunnel and the rear axle! Don't know if any front end replacement company does that on their own or not.....Tunnel needs to be cut apprx. 8" rearward and more centered because of it being a top loaded shifter. Trans mount I had to make myself as neither the '99 nor the '67 unit worked!
