Just a little update. I'm a couple week behind as everyone is used to but the engine got a little engine dyno time today. After some warm up and break in load we had to play around a little to get some fuel and timing setup for the e98 which I imagine is a little odd (I'm not a turner) When it came time to make some actual power pulls to see where we were it quickly tapped out the 65lb injectors at 6000rpm so we didn't get much in the way or tweaking. I should have some 83lb ones in tomorrow morning. 700hp at the crank is what would make me happy and anything better is all gravy. It looked like it made 640hp when we cut it off and it Rich said it was just winding up. Power started moving in good at the high 4k range with a 140hp increase from 5k to 6k when we cut it off. (if I remember correctly) We haven't played with timing or much of anything really so I'm feeling pretty good I will get to the 700 mark which should put the little Vega into the 8's.
Hopefully the good vibes continue for tomorrow when we really get to play with it. Fingers crossed!

Well I don't really have any additional numbers as we moved from the engine dyno unfinished so we could get the car together and run it. Tuned on the chassis dyno to get a safe baseline and run it on Sunday. The chassis dyno never gives me any good numbers with my 8 inch 5500 stall so I don't worry about those numbers too much(and I keep them to myself lol). I bet we will get it back on the engine dyno soon enough.
But now for the better stuff. Took it to Milan for some test and tune and I'm chasing some bugs with the trans brake so I didn't use it. Had a few test hits and 1/8 mile attempts then went for a full 1/4. First run was a 9.28 @ 143.5 foot braking it.
Its a little soft top end but we are still learning how the e98 acts and didn't want to push it. Not bad for a first pass though. Here are a couple pics on a nice summer day!

Check it out. Got some props in the old Vega during my licensing runs at dragzine.com.
