Your car runs good, I have a 86 s10 that runs 6.50 or so with a old 406... I have a 04 lq4 that I have a msd 6010 for an a single plane carb intake.. the rest of the truck is th350 4000 conv. 9" 411 gears caltrac bars etc. truck weighs about the same as a fox body..I just can't decide if I want to go l92 or 243/799...this started to be a low dollar deal and run the times I did without running race gas and would behave alittle beater on the street... and adive Billy please feel free to pro/con it for me... thanks..

other than having a flat nose the s-10 platforms make good racetrucks as long as you have caltracks or somethig in that nature...sounds like you have a good plan and should get what you want...thanks billy...ps i would go with the L92's

I think that would be dependent on the intake manifold. I have the single GMPP intake with an 850 Carb and no spacer and the stock hood is impossible.

Well, you have me dying to get some 243/799 heads that will be ported on my 6.0 now, i am only trapping 91.8x with a 5000 RPM launch with a 6 speed bogging, scared to break the stock drive shaft, i have the stock 317s, and i know my car is about 3600 with me in it, you have me wanting to cut allot of weigh now.

You neeed to port those 799s, they will work great for you. L92 would like a bigger engine, the cathedral ports do great for out 6.0 and smaller apps.

Billy...you make me sick! lol

Thanks for taking the time to talk to me on the phone. I needed some motivation . Basically after we talked, I/we came to the conclusion that my converter was way off(which it was according to Greg @ FTI) and the tiny carb that is on it.

I swapped out the redneck 4k converter this past weekend for a custom 9" 5200-5500 FTI piece. Now I'm waiting on my Pro- Systems carb. I hope to have it by the middle of next week.
I also got to thinking about my cam. I'm running a Texas Speed 233/239 cam. Another guy on Tech had a major issue with a tsp cam. It was ground all F'ed up, like 23* retarded.... I think the first chance I get, I'm going to tear down the front of the motor and stick a degree wheel on it. I know I should have done it to begin with, but....

Anyway, Keep us updated!
