LQ4 6.0 swap

LQ4 6.0 swap So my friend just bought a 98 z28 with a LQ4 6.0 iron block. I did notice that LS1 intake is still on it. The previous owner said that it is rated at 385HP and that he pulled it out of a 2002 truck. I can't seem to find any HP ratings over 300HP for this motor. I would just like to know some basic information on this block and want to know if it was a good idea for the previous owner to replace the original LS1 with the 6.0 LQ4. thanks.
it's cheaper if the old motor blew up to replace it with the 6.0L, it is also great from a performance standpoint to toss in a cam into those if he was looking to make bigger power.

Alright, what size cam would prefer - its going to be his daily driving street car - it will most likely never see a drah strip. The only mod i know the engine has are LT headers and maybe LS heads.. Does anyone know the HP rating for this engine?

LQ4 Denali has 320 at 5000 rpm
LQ4 HD has 300 at 4400 rpm
Don't put to much into it as a tune and some bolt-ons will wake it up. i would say that motor would put 300hp at the wheels easy. But throurg in a cam and a good tune and it will really shine.
The LQ9 has the higher compression and the LQ4 has the lower.
also depends on the heads the first couple of years lq4's came with cast iron heads they were rated at 300hp then they switched to the aluminum 317's heads 320 to 325 hp that wasin the 2500 trucks and vans the escalades, ss silverados and maybe denalis came with 345hp motor lq9 had flat top pistons
