Default Peak Power Question

I'm trying to pick a gear for my 88 Monte SS that has a 6.0. Its a 2005 LQ4, stock heads and bottom end. I'm running a Comp 216/226 .526 .536 on a 112, hardened pushrods, victor jr intake, 750 carb, 1 3/4" long tubes. With my tire height, I'm trying to see what the best RPM is to go through the traps.

Any thoughts? I really have no idea as most people put much larger cams in their motors. This one is rather tame.

Check out *billyflantos* thread....6.90's in a junkyard 6.0. As you already mentioned, your tire diameter will have a lot to do with it. My own carbureted 6.0, like yours has a very mild 222x234 cam, but still makes max power right at 6500RPM, according to the dyno sheet when it was still fuel injected. I would expect it to be at that or even more with the shorter runners on the carb intake. I run 4.10's and I think *billyflantos* does also, but he does run a bigger cam. I think he said he was shifting at 6500. It also will depend whether you are running 1/8 or 1/4 mile tracks. Good luck! Ron

Its a 1/4 mile track and I run a 4.10 right now with a 28in drag radial. It ran 112mph last year with a 26" tall tire, I know I'm gonna loose a few hundred RPMs through the lights, just trying to see if it may help or hurt.... I"m looking at 4.30s or even a 4.56.
