Default 240SX ls1 engine install options

I'm in the planning stages of my next project. I want to put a LSx/T56 in a 97 Nissan 240sx. From what I've read it will require a GTO oil pan so I've decided to just get a GTO drive train for the swap.

What are my options for installing the motor? Do I have to have mount adaptors or are the differences something a little fab work would take care of? Also courious if anyone makes swap headers for the 240.

Any info would be appreciated.

You should really become a member on silviav8. There is a lot of information on there.

There are several different swap kits available now for the 240sx. 3 companies that I can think of make headers for the swap. If you have a good shop you can probably do all the mounting yourself, it is fairly easy.

Thanks

I have the fab skills to build almost anything. I was just hoping to find pics from someone elses build to help me get a game plan going. Google searches have turned up only old threads from this site and a bunch of utube videos.

There are quite a few builds in this forum alone that are worth your looking. Miro's thread is recent and filled with pics.

Here is a link to all the pictures I took during my swap:
http://www.rigidracing.com/ebaypics/ls1swap/

Most are really crappy quality phone pictures, but they should give you some indication of what I had to do.

Good luck with your swap.

you should just join silviav8.com. It is free. A majority of the thread you can use. It show many pics comparing mounting kit (diy and kits). it show the relation of how much clearance you have for the ls1 as well.

I own a 97 240sx as welll.
Try sikky, daft, pxracing, hinson. Those are the main ones that offer a kit or there of.

i ended up joining silviav8.com. Dosen't seem to be the same free sharing of info over there that we have here. Either that or we just have one hell of a lot more traffic on this forum. Either way, thanks for the tips. I've got something to think over now.

Now....Anyone got either a 97+ 240sx or a GTO LSx fro sale.

Well silviav8.com is a niche forum so there's a lot less traffic but still a lot of info over there. I'm not just saying that because I'm a moderator over there either

PM me if you have any questions regarding the swap. I'll help out a fellow Air Force guy.
