Default lq9 differences

alright i have searched, but i can't find what i want.

anyone know what the differences would be on lq4 engines of different years. specifically i want the differences between a 2003 and 2007 form a 2500 pickup. i am trying to decide if the difference in price for used from a junkyard if worth it to get the 2007 lower mileage engine, or if theres not a performance difference should i just go with the 03. i have a t56 already, and i need to get this into my formula so i have my car back. any info would help, thanks guys,

nick

The LQ4 is different from the LQ9. The LQ9 has different rods and flat tops pistons for higher compression ratio.

They should all be the same from 03-07 in that aspect. I am not sure if the newer LQ4 went with the LQ9 rods though. I believe all the stock cams are basically similar through the years as well.

They will all have 317 heads.

The LY6 is a iron block VVT 6.0L (with L92 heads and intake) and is used in the 07 up GMT900 HD trucks. The L76 is an all aluminum VVT and AFM 6.0L (with L92 heads and intake) used in 07 up 1/2 GMT900 Vortec max trucks.

Last year for LQ4/9 is the 07 Classic Trucks GMT800's.

Also some of the Vans had Cable TB well after 04-05.

Techrunner. I have been researching a LSX swap for myself. I have gotten tons of great info from the following book. Very worth while buy, full of facts, whats swaps with what, spicific GM part numbers etc. You will enjoy. Also good info on LM4 LQ9 6.0L stuff.

"Hot to build high performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V8's"
Author Will Handzel
ISBN# 978-1-932494-88-4

I bought at barnes and noble, may be in stock.
