Awesome thread Ellis Juan! I was tossing around the idea of a C3 swap in the next year or so... kinda torn between a Z3 or a C3. You've really given a good argument for a C3 Roadster with an LSx transplant. Couple questions:
--How much time did you put into this swap?
--If you kept track of it... what did it cost? Not including the Car itself. Feel free to PM if you dont want to tell everyone.
--In your first post, you mentioned a weight of 3600lbs... now you say it weighs 3000lbs? How did you drop that much weight?? Was all that weight in the motor/trans??

THANKS FOR POSTING!!

thanks everyone! I like to iNcorporate nature into my work the coolant sensor goes on the passenger side head. I believe i tapped the existing plug hole to 3/8 npt.

Z3 and c3 are two entirely diff creatures. It took me from October 2008-may2009. All that weight came from engine/trans, suspension, brakes, wheels etc. I spent around 15k on the swap and iv already put 10k miles on the car since may. I built the car to be a driver and it's holding up to the challenge so far!

Default Great job and great looking ride!!

Here's a link to my project: http://LS273Stingray.blogspot.com

I don't put as much detail as Ellis Juan, but if you have any questions on some of the steps I took, feel free to ask.

Hopefully, I'll be up and running by this summer. I still have interior, body and paint to do.

Default Great thread

Just wanted to say your thread has been a big help. i am knee deep in my 79 5.3 swap and its going well. Just wondering were did you mount the PCM?

Oh i thought i would add for any one else who has a Bat wing oil pan it will work with original MANUAL steering. However if you have the old style hydraulic ram it will not. I have got the power steering gear box conversion and the oil pan fits great!
