Best bet is to get out the tape and measure. I hope you're planning on having a shop do it so it can be balanced properly.

Fill this out and take it with you: http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/how_to_measure.html

Alot of shops have you measure differently so call the shop you plan to use and ask how they want you to measure. If you use dennys obviously they have a form to fill out. I prefer to use local guys so if there is an issue I can drop it off and have it fixed. FWIW

remember you need a pinion angle of 3-5 degrees and you must mesure with the rear end jacked up (springs loaded). Mine was 48" dead on and i bough tit from Dennys driveshaft. My nitrous read one was only $450 and its got a lifetime warranty with free lifetime upgrades.

I posted a question about this same issue with the Edelbrock kit but they ddidn't answer. I thought this was supposed to locate the LS1 within a half iinch of the old motor location so things like the driveshaft, crossmember, linkage etc. wouldn't need to be modified. My driveshaft is at least two inches too long in my Chevelle/LS1/4l60 setup.

I usually measure with the car on the ground. No surprises that way. Weight dist will mess with height while a car is on a jack.
