The old "sleeper" gets a facelift The old LS1 powered sedan got a freshening up over the past few weeks. After sanding, priming, more sanding, more priming I finally got some fresh paint on it. This was a bit of an experiment to get a tough lasting finish without a high gloss multi-stage paint. I can wax and polish this thing now and still have my "matt finish" that I wanted.
Hopefully when I again become gainfully employed I can get back to my "big motor" for this car. Unemployment really puts a crimp in your hot rod plans.

The paint is RM SC-804 single stage "Matt Black". It is applied over two medium coats of PPG DP-90 primer/sealer. The nice thing about it is that in spite of being the "low gloss" finish I wanted, it is a regular top coat finish that is very tough and can be waxed and polished like a gloss finish....but still retains the low gloss look.
Now if I can get back to work ( I got laid off in February) I can finish my "big" stroker motor and install some REAL torque in the old girl!

Thanks Pat! Things are looking up, I have been hired to teach an Advanced Automotive Technology class at a local Regional Occupational Center in the fall. This looks like it may be the best thing that could've happened!
