Default Fuel pressure regulator

I am running a Rock valley tank and corvette filter, do I need to run a pressure reg ? also do you know what type of fuel filter works best.

If you use the Corvette filter regulator, you don't need another filter, unless you just want one up front. The filter is internally regulated to +/- 58 psi......so no regulator needed.......

Any good filter will work. Personally I prefer to plumb my systems with -AN lines.....not hose clamps. Find a good filter that uses inverted flare ends, and you are good to go.

Tom...that's the best looking LS1 I have seen yet. I absolutely love the look of the red rails and wires. Your installation is a fine one as well.

I listened and watched on youtube....that's an insanely healthy sounding motor...bet you are having a blastola driving that one.

Well done!

The thing surprises me everyday. The motor has 60K on it, and is still running strong, and I haven't even hit the dyno yet.....working on sorting out the A/C right now to beat this heat. That's the only thing keeping me from driving it a lot more.....it's 99 here in Houston today, I'm sure hotter up where you are.

Thanks for the compliments, it was a great build to tackle. I see more of these in my future.....

Default Update...A/C Installed

Got the AC installed, and it is Coooolllldddddd........

Used the Kwik performance bracket. It swaps your pulleys around, and all the parts are there to perform the swap. It fit great, and the finish is good. I had to shim the idler slightly, as I didn't like the belt postition on the pulley. No big deal, one washer, and done.......

Also installed Vintage air duct system under the dash, all one piece, and fit perfect.

The car never gets over 170 degrees, as the ECM brings on both fans. Drove around Saturday with it, and it is cool, both inside and out.

Tried the other style bracket down low in the original position, but it hit the crossmemeber, and was far too tight to suite me.

Great mod, great products and good customer support and communication.....

Got it from www.intakehoses.com it's a 4" to 3.5" reducing elbow, they have all kinds of parts there......everything on the intake came from them, clamps and all....price is based on how fancy you get, the silicone stuff is high.....check them out don't remember exactly what I paid for it....

Outstanding, I am jealous.. My favorite year for the Nova's was the 63's, and the 66's... Don't get it stolen, hot cars and they are worth money in that kind of prestine condition..

Vintage American Classic, have fun....

I actually have had my eye on the 63 Nova SS with a carb'd 454 for $14,000 OBO... Wonder if it has more juice then yours?

http://www.cars-on-line.com/42605.html

This 63 with 383 stroker was really clean and sold.. Don't like the rims but the rest of the car is as clean as yours.

check http://www.cars-on-line.com/40796.html

This one was the meanest one I could find, but the price was crazy and so is the car..

This is what happens when you take a bath on your built pro street Nova.. Becareful, I am sure this guy poured a ton of money into this car, it runs 10 seconds and he is only asking $14,000..

Tragedy..

Sorry to post up all this, but these Nova's I just love.. Wanted to share..

Thanks, I built it for reliability, I guess you could say I am a stickler for detail....

Gotta really watch the market. I'd be leery of any car with a hi-perf motor, you know it's been beat on. They built it that way for a reason......

Ain't worried about it getting stolen, got some .40 cal love, and a Rott to handle the leftovers......

^ Good points..

Rots and 40 cal. pistols equate to extreme home and car protection..

Very good.

I prefer my side by side 12 ga. Something so menacing about a gun with 2 barrels and 2 triggers. I got a .40 cal glock too just in case.

Tom, got any pics of the crossmember? Curious to see how the 700R lines up with the 4L60e. I made one for mine but it takes up some room and would like to see if I can get anymore clearance with another x-member.

Thanks,
Duane

Don't have one of the install, but I used the one in the link, plenty of clearance for pipes. It's for a 700R4, but the 60E and 700 are the same dimensions....
I had to trim the back lip off, but other than that it worked fine...

Default Nice Nova

I'm currently trying to swap a 6.0 and 4L80e into my 62 Nova wagon.....Can you post the dimensions of your efi fuel tank? Or maybe a nice drawing?

I'm hoping that all the early novas have the same tank with only the fuel filler in different places.

Thanks,

Matt
