Radiator Options 64 A-body
Wanted to know what options are out there on Radiators/Fans for my 99LS1.
My stock radiator I believe is 23". So really only 2 questions. On fan choices what should I look for as far as cfm displacment and the second question would be what radiator hoses are you guys using to hook up. I wanted to keep the inlet/outlet on the passenger side to not get in the way of the intake but need recommendations.

If you do not mind a little fabrication, here is a possible (relatively cheap) solution. I used a radiator and the fans out of a 1999 Camaro in my son's 1966 GTO we are currently building (has a 6.0 LQ9 motor). I had to fab up some tabs for the bottom of the radiator to fit in, slightly modify the radiator support, and minor cutting on a part of the Camaro fan shroud, but it works great. It has approximately 1 inch of clearance around the steering box.

Thanks for the responses...Yeah looking at my stock radiator it is pretty small for duals but if a single can blow as much the 2 smaller duals I should be good to go...I didnt want to hack up my radiator support unless needed...Its going into a 64 skylark..do you know how much the stock 98-02 camaro fans push?

Sorry, I can't help you on the CFM rating on the GM fans. I went on the theory that it worked for basically the same engine when it was in the 99 Camaro, so I'm hoping there will be no problem in the 66 GTO. The Fans (and shroud) should cover your original radiator area and pull more air than one large fan, plus you can wire it up for "High" and "Low" running. I will try to post pictures of my setup at my build site (1966GTO at Hotrodders.com). the link below should work:

Check out C4 Corvette radiators. They are 23 9/16" wide and 15 inches tall. They are inexpensive and available everywhere. I used one in an RX7 LSx swap and never had any cooling problems. Some other nice things about the Corvette radiators is that they are very light, and have the right size inlet and outlet for an LS.
