Is this starter gap correct???
Is this starter gap correct??? Hi, Im in the middle of an LS2 swap into my RX7. My setup is using a F-body T56 and bellhousing, LS2 engine, LS2 flywheel, and LS1 F-body starter.
I installed the starter and have a gap between the starter and bellhousing and don't know if this is normal or not. I bought all the parts seprately and have never seen them installed the "correct" way.

Looks to me like it is correct, but you're missing the plastic block-off plate that covers the open part of the bellhousing.
You can see both the left and right side plates in this picture:
The nose of the starter sticks though the passenger side one. The driver side is smaller, and it's a bit hard to see in that picture. They each bolt on to the oil pan with one small bolt.
Also, I know that says 5.7 on the block, but I was changing the clutch on my LS2 GTO this week and it's identical to that.

Thanks for the heads up on the plastic block offs. I figured there had to be some sort of guard to prevent road debris from entering the bellhousing.
