6.0 idle issues

Default 6.0 idle issues

I put a 6.0 lq4 in a 88 suburban and when i start it it idles at 1200-1300. I have a 4 inch cold air intake with a k&N on it and i don't know why it is idling like that.

Stock tune? Stock motor? Throwing any codes? Need more info. may need base timing @ idle / idle air values adjusted if no mechanical problems are present

motor is stock, it has a performance tune from speartech. When i put it in gear it idles like it should but when i put it in park it idles up again.

do you put oil on your k and n filter? or did you encounter any water. My idle control valve was acting up because i put a little to much oil on my filter and it sucked it into the intake =/ lol causing my car to idle much higher.

I bought the K&N new and it was already oiled. I sprayed the engine off with the garden hose and it wouldn't start. I waited a while and it started but it barely idles for 10 seconds than went to normal. The idle was high like this before the water incident. I think it may be a vaccuum leak on my cold air intake. THe intake itself is factory.

yeah it is hooked up to the tranny but it is not hooked to the speedo it is mechanical thaqt hooks to the transfercase, but the electric one is hooked up to the trans.
