5.3L L59 with backfire on accel
I finally got some time to work on my project. Got the radiator connected, and ran for extended period for the first time.
It idles ok, but as soon as I hit the accelerator it will randomly give me a backfire(through exhaust) occasionally. It actually smells a little bit rich too.
Some things I've done...removed all injectors and checked/cleaned. New stainless Tank, corvette FP/filter, new aluminum 3/8 line.
The engine hasn't run in over 1yr, but is new and only has 400miles on it.
What could cause this backfire? I'm afraid it'll blow out my new cats if it continues.
Appreciate any help I can get.

Usually a backfire on decell is caused by an exhaust leak. Maybe it can happen when you rev it.
Try torquing all the exhaust bolts and checking them for leaks. As a test try blocking off the EGR if you still have it.
