I have a new GM LS1 in my 67 Firebird but it does not want to start. The motor was a GM crate motor long block. I am using an Edelbrock 2908 Victor Jr. intake and ignition box and for fuel I am using a FAST EZ EFI set up. The car will start but dies and pops like a regular SBC would it were 180 degrees out or the timing was off severly. I have double and triple checked the coil wiring to make sure that they were correct and I can't find any wiring issues. I think it is an ignition issue but if everything is wired correctly would could be the problem? The motor is a 5.7 LS1 365 horse GM crate motor that was manufactured in 05--is there a chance it has the later style reluctor wheel even though it is a 5.7? The motor was a 04 GTO LS1 I believe. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the coil wiring but I will check it again because it does seem to be the most likely cause. The driver and passenger side coil harness is the same as long as they are oriented correctly, right?
