1st Gen Datsun Z car LSx Swap In-Progress

My buddy sent me this link, always nice to see a fellow Hybrid guy, your MPG numbers are awesome. My best freeway mileage is about 28 mpg, on my 7M motor. I never paid attention to mileage around town, I'm sure it sucks, but it sure is fun getting to 150 + on a freeway entrance ramp. LOL
If the Hoosiers don't do the trick I highly recommend Mickey Thompson Street ET's. They made a WORLD if difference in the hook up of my car. Even these videos were done with sticky tires.

I take it the truck intake wouldn't clear the hood even if you chopped the mounting bosses and whatnot off the top of it?
This was a sweet build! What did it ever run at the track?

Were you able to keep the rest of the truck accessories and accessory mounts and just get a different bracket that lowered the alternator? That would be a lot nicer than having to chase down a whole F-body front end accessory drive setup....
For a time I used spacers with the F-Body alternator bracket in order to keep the truck water pump and balancer. Then the truck water pump died so I ditched the spacers and I went ahead and bought a new Dorman F-Body balancer ($50 from Summit) and a brand new F-Body water pump off eBay ($100 shipped w/gasket, thermostat, & water neck).
I take it the truck intake wouldn't clear the hood even if you chopped the mounting bosses and whatnot off the top of it?
Nope, the TB was the actual problem.

Thanks, 11.7@117

Do you still have the car? It's absent from your sig except for the photo. I'm not far from Bakersfield and I know a guy who'd love to buy a swapped 1st gen Z if you ever decide to sell.

No, sold it to a Japenese guy from Japan in July 2012. He had been looking for one too and found me (the wonders of the internet). He offered WAY more than it was worth or what I had into it, so it was an easy deal. I will build another someday, right now my 2wd K5 has been getting my attention lately.
