Default MIL light

On my harness that was made it has a two wire that says MIL, malfunction light, its is needed or can i just leave this un hooked.

It will run with it not hooked up, if that's what you're asking. But you won't know when anything goes wrong, so why not hook it up?

can you use any type of bulb for it or light

Yes, you pretty much can, but I would probably not put a halogen headlight in it! But seriously, just get a small 12volt light, and you should be good to go. I wouldn't put an LED in it though, as they will seem to slightly glow all of the time.
