Default Jeep TJ&YJ LSx Conversion Compilation Spreadsheet

I have started a compilation of information from all the members that I could find doing this swap. I am also sending out a private message to all those users to also try and help fill in the info.

I hope once all the data is complete that this will let us help each other more with issues and be a great help with new members.

Check it out and if you are, or know, some one else that should be on this list with there YJ or TJ LSx swap then plz have them get a copy to add info.

Thank You

Editing Note, I guess I need to change this to Gen III/IV engines

here is the file link

The Zip file gets corrupted everytime i upload it. I have changed the name to a short one and even double zipped it. The attachements only allow certain types of files and excel is not one of them. I have now uploaded it to a different server and added to the top message.

Sorry for the problems.

Any other ideas or changes to the format is welcome. Pictures can also be made to pop up when you bring your mouse over each cell. I.E. a picture of the radiator can popup when the mouse is brought over that users radiator cell.

I just have not taken the time to do that yet because each cell takes many steps to get a picture to insert.

I know it is still missing much data but I hope you guys like it!

Sorry.

The link above takes you to a new window where you just click download file. I tested this one at home and at work today and have had no problems.

What should I call this topic to include 5.3,LS1,6.0, and GenIV engines? The 5.3 in early 2000's is not a Gen III, correct? So would that make this for 5.3,GenIII, and GenIV? I dont have any info on GenIV jeep swaps but I am sure it has or will be happening with guys on here and the info should be close enough to the GenIII stuff I would think.

The 4.8l/5.3l/6.0l started in 1999 and are all Gen III motors.

The Gen IV motors really began in the truck in 07. Only difference is sensor location and ECM's and are basically the the same as the Gen III swap wise with some things being different namely the computer.

I think I may add Power steering pressure hose to the excel sheet, or does everyone have to go to the hydraulic shop and splice the hoses together?

I don't mean to hijack, but I believe this is the most concentrated jeep crowd I'll find.

I have a 2002 4.8 waiting to be dropped into my 87 YJ. I will be mating it to a '92 AX-15, my query lies with what adapter works best? I've come across only 2 that mate the Ax-15 to a chevy motor. The Advance Adapters version is an entire bellhousing, and comes as a kit including the front cover, throwout bearing and various other bellhousing components. It sells on 4x4groupbuy for $400. The other option is the novak adapter which is just a front cover for the trans that then allows you to bolt a chevy bellhousing to it. It comes with just a new front bearing retainer that allows use of a chevy throwout bearing. It sells for $320. I am leaning towards the advance adapters because it seems simpler.

Does anybody have a 4.8/5.3/AX-15 combo? Please share, I've been holding off ordering one for a while now looking for more info/people who've used one or the other.

Thanks for any input and again, I apologize for a hijack.

I think this is a good idea BTW. I've been busy, but I'll update my parts sometime this weekend. For PS lines, I just used the Jeep oem stuff unmodified to the GM pump.

I dont follow on the PS hose... When I converted my YJ from a 4.0 to a Ford 5.0HO then the hose fit for Ford PS pump perfect. Are you saying that the hose fit perfect to the pump on your swap too, or are you reused the Jeep (GM style) PS pump?
