You would most likley have to use the entire cluster, and probably the BCM too, if you want it to tell you everything. I've hooked up power to a cluster before to see the mileage of an engine, and without every thing hooked up, it just repeated the same messages over and over. It would show the mileage, then say something like low washer fluid or something like that, and then it would say something else like driver #1. It was a 2004 Silverado cluster.

Bo, I guess I could use a screen like is on my 07 truck..Or, just a square/rectangle type. [So I could mount it in the flat part of the dash, on the 55]. I'd like to mount it from the rear, so it's framed by the alum insert I'm using.
Sounds like Nova has BTDT...
I'll have a look at the wiring on Alldata, for the PCM I have, and see if there's some way I can turn off various items, using EFILIVE.
OR!, I have a friend in the electronics business.. How about a screen made to report only what we want to see?? [The type Dakota Digital uses for thier gauges, like oil psi, h2o temp, etc??
"DLC" is? Diagnostic link connector??? New "speak" for the old ALDL??
Schematic shows there are 2 inputs to the PCM, from the BCM.
1 is class 2 serial.
1 is class 2 to the "DLC" schematic.
Looks as tho the PCM ultimately is the "reporter" to the "DIC", driver info center".
Now, the "fun" starts! How many PCM'S do I smoke b4 it works!

Has NE1 used 1? If so, is it worth the $$?
It appears this gauge is always lit.
I was looking to have the system display only when codes come up.. If the entire OEM dash has to be used, that's out.
Thanks for the help!

I doubt it will work with out the BCM and cluster and I doubt EFIlive will tune it.
http://www.aeroforcetech.com/ This looks good. You could put it in the center of the dash use it for MPH and RPM.

Yeah, I've seen that gauge before, & it's cool enough, but there are two things that I don't like about it -
It certainly seems decent for what it is, but I'd sure like to find something that's at least a bit easier to read...
- It plugs into the OBD-II port;
- and it's pretty small.

I had on in my Silverado SS. I ended up breaking it on accident but it was super cool. You can scroll through all of the info on the fly and invert the gauge backround. You can also read and clear codes with it as well as datalog. For what it does I think it is well worth it. It will do all of the parameters supported by your pcm/
