How to hook up shift linkage?

How to hook up shift linkage? I am in the process of putting a 2002 5.3/4l60e into a 1994 full size p/u. I cannot install the shift lever off the old trans onto the 4l60e because it hits the PNP switch. The lever on the '60 is made for a cable setup. Is there an easy way to do this that I am overlooking? I should have it up and running late next week.

I had to cut and reposition the original lever, cut and shorten the pivot arm that goes in the frame, and adjust the rod where it hooks to the strg column. Not too bad-took about an hour to do, but this was one of those little things in a swap that you don't expect. I would've thunk it would hook right up. Should be running later this week.
