I needed to find out my rear end gear ratio. I didn't want to count teeth and drain the rear, so i marked a tire and the drive shaft. I turned the tire 1 comple rotation. I think i have 2.73 gears.
Should I go to 4.11 gears? I will have an LQ9 engine, 225/60 15 tires/wheels, and this will be a weekend cruiser.
or should I go with 3.73???

what trans are you running? the 4l80e i put in mine has a pretty sluggish 1st gear (2.48 i think?), so i would go with 4.11s if i were to change the axle out. i've got 3.90s right now, and i'm turning about 27oo-28oo rpm at aboot 75 mph.

I have a 4L65E. I guess I'm going to stick with the 2.73's for now. I'll see what it is like, and make a change if neccessary.
Thanks

Shortened the shims just a little. Oil pan just clears the crossmember. I also got the new steering box in.

I got them from Car Shop. They are their own in house brand. They slid right in. I had to put the driverside in from the under side, but I had no problems.
What project are you working on?
