Looks like you'll have a fun car to drive. What is the weight difference between the stock engine and an LS engine? Bob

The LS1 engine should weigh LESS than a fully dressed 3.0 SC engine. The engine I pulled probably weighed just a few lb less than an LS1, but was only a 2.0L making ~120bhp?

New stuff!

Cut the gas tank down and bought all the metal to get the radiator installed and add some mesh to the front core support to allow for some airflow.

New:

Built the aluminum box area for the radiator. Got the Fans mounted to the radiator and being mounting the battery in the smugglers box.

Looks familiar with the exception of the cut down gas tank. Looks like you've got some great progress going on. Good luck.

thanks! it's a never ending laundry list of what needs to be done still...

By the time the car gets "driving" it will still need interior work, paint work, brakes, and front struts :-O

You will really enjoy the LS. We have a 66 Corvair with a rear mounted LS and 930 Transaxle. It will make short work of our 997 S that has been pretty modded. Best of all the weight gain is negligible. We tip the scales at 2640 Lb.

look fwd to seeing more

Very nice work. Have you leak tested the tank? Thank-you for the updated pics.

yeah, all tested, no leaks. Going to add some in-tank sealant anyways.

There's a pic up top with us with a little mini airbrush compressor leak testing it.
