Really? I used March's BBC serpentine pulley set on my 427 and it was the best thing I ever did. I always through belts with the stock stuff. I tried 4 different stock BBC setups. They all got tossed. Then I finally broke down and bought their pulleys and kept the GM bracketry and never once tossed a belt. Plus I could shift at 7400 RPM
with no problem. I was lucky to get to 6500 with the v-belts. I'll check 'em out. thanks.

mine was also on the driver side. PS only. No AC. BBC with AC at the drag strip?
anyway. my LS1 with ac is awesome. Dragstrip included.

Obviously the AC was off while racing but the belt was still there ... and it is the same belt as the ps pump and it got shredded in a single pass. So from then on, all drag racing was done without power steerng.

I knew it was off. I was questioning having an AC compressor to begin with. I don't bracket race anymore...but when I did, all the race nuts around me took as much off the car as possible. You could barely call them "doorslammers"! They would say..."It runs in the 9's with a 10,000 rpm stall....but it is streetable." Yeah, only on streets with 1/4 mile of pavement and if replacing a torque converter for the drive to the track is considered streetable then....
