Default alternator relocation

I'm getting around to packaging my engine accessories on my 67 Chevy II project, and I need to move the alternator. I've seen some pics of the alternator up high on the face of the passenger head, which will work for me. I'm using an F-body balancer.

Does anybody know of a source for such a relocation bracket?

thanks!

You may want to check out Street and Performance. They have a couple of passenger side setups on page 60 of their catalog. www.hotrodlane.cc

Thanks Steve. I'll give them a call. Anybody know of anything else out there if S&P isn't the solution?

thanks!

Old school GM one wire alternator is very cool with me. I'll have a look at what March offers. I have to say I spent some time with March's setup on another car (BBC) and wasn't too impressed with that setup.

thanks!

Really? I used March's BBC serpentine pulley set on my 427 and it was the best thing I ever did. I always through belts with the stock stuff. I tried 4 different stock BBC setups. They all got tossed. Then I finally broke down and bought their pulleys and kept the GM bracketry and never once tossed a belt. Plus I could shift at 7400 RPM with no problem. I was lucky to get to 6500 with the v-belts.

Interesting. The March setup I worked on a BBC was for the power steering and AC on the driver's side. We had to run without power steering for any drag racing ... the belt would get eaten in a single pass.

I'll check 'em out. thanks.

BBC with AC at the drag strip?
Of course. Doesn't everybody use AC while drag racing?

Obviously the AC was off while racing but the belt was still there ... and it is the same belt as the ps pump and it got shredded in a single pass. So from then on, all drag racing was done without power steerng.

I knew it was off. I was questioning having an AC compressor to begin with. I don't bracket race anymore...but when I did, all the race nuts around me took as much off the car as possible. You could barely call them "doorslammers"! They would say..."It runs in the 9's with a 10,000 rpm stall....but it is streetable." Yeah, only on streets with 1/4 mile of pavement and if replacing a torque converter for the drive to the track is considered streetable then....

Right. I understand. This particular car was a street car spending some time at the drags. The pulleys worked fine for normal driving. Just the high RPM pulls drag racing would do in the ps/ac belt.
