Best pass on the motor, with motor timing and plugs was 11.74 @ 114
1.66 60' (tight converter) It made 500ft/lbs @ 3500 on spray 34x ft/lbs on motor.
The car hasn't been on the dyno with the 10.22 tune up in it. Numbers above are with the 150 shot setup but the old fuel system. Best pass on old fuel system was
10.67 @ 128 1.50 60'

How the heck are you getting the weight down that low - especially with an iron block?? That's gotta be a smaller car, something like an RX7, a Vega or a 240, right? I'm guessing that even with the weight-reduction that I'm doing (not real extreme), mine will still be around 3350, maybe 3400 or so with me in it...

Nothing special to spill the beans about
Old setup was splitting one Holley blue pump for the motor and N2o. pressure was all over the place, didn't trust it. not very tunable always left the tune up to the rich side
New setup: Stand alone system, 1 gallon cell, its own Holley blue, a ton more tunable,
We spent a ton more time pulling plugs, reading them and adjusting fuel pressure and timing accordingly with this set up. I also changed from a -4 nitrous feed line (bottle to solenoid) to a -6

Its 140,xxx mile bone stock front end with no front sway bar, Out back is stock springs, Chris Alston tunnel mounted torque arm, QA1 shocks, spohn swaybar, spohn adjustable panhard bar and non adjustable LCA's. The QA1's shocks were the single biggest difference makers in the susp. I love the Chris Alston TA because if I have to pull my tranny I dont have to mess with it at all.

Great setup, I have an LQ4 @ home that I'd like to place in my 82 S10. I have a couple of 700R4's @ home to choose from. Did you have any issues with installing one of those? Sorry if it sounds kinda stupid I just don't have much experience with placing a gen3 into something older. Also, as far as the 6010 box is concerned, I've read that the Edelbrock box limits to 5500, what are the pills like for the 6010? How's the box tuneable? Thanks in advance!

Vicious, Stay away from the edelbrock box. It has no rev limiter, its only tunable with the pills. The msd is better all the way around, its fully adjustable with either a msd hand held programmer or a laptop. If you want to run a "old style" look in to TCI's conversion flex plate. Then you can run a "old style" tq converter.
Dickie, My friend owns a transmission shop so he wanted to see how a stock rebuild would hold up, see what broke, then go in and beef it up. First one made it a 1000 miles and ten 1/4 mi passes. Second one had nothing special just good clutches and a wider band. I ran that for two years with no prob the car made its best pass to date (10.67) with that tranny
at the last race of the year. Decided to pull it last winter (after the best pass) just to do preventive main, We pulled it apart and it looked awesome. Put new clutches and band in it and slapped it back together. Ran it all this year in the 10.6x range then made 8-10 passes in the 10.2x-10.3x range this fall. Its got a deep pan and a cooler on it in front of the rad. I think my low stall has helped the tranny live. I have not had any exp with
200r4 so I'm no help there but there are plenty of guys having good luck with them.

Timing is 32* total all in by 3000. Taking out 6*-8* depending on DA and reading what the plug looks like. So its 24*-26* with the kit on. I run a NGK B8EFS 1049 which is a 8 heat range.

i would also look into ptc torque converters. i went crazy getting all the stuff to bolt my th400 up to my ls3 spend money on a sfi flywheel and hub. i found out later when i ordered my converter that ptc could have made me one that has the metric bolt pattern flywheel hookup and has an extended hub so you dont need the spacer.

Agreed, my Converter Shop converter has the lsx style bolt pattern. Its a toss up if you already have a converter for the old style flex plate. I have some friends that switched from "old style" small bocks to Lsx and had good converters they didn't want to change .
