i noticed last night looking my cell over that the vent/return fittings are right in the way of where i'd like to run a hold down strap (to align with the alignment tabs). i've got the same cell as you in black, with a sump.

i may do mount straps inside of those fittings - eventually. prob start with just the alignment tabs initially though. it's been off the road for damn near a year, so i wanna get this thing moving and soon!

edit: you could prob get away with a couple gussets on each tab for added strength. course, that'd take a lot longer than the straps but prob look nicer.

TO be honest I do not think it is a big concern, you see hundreds of cars with them just held in by the tabs.

My mustang went 9.51@147 with a crappy 60 foot on 14 psi/pump gas and a stock bottom end 6.0 .... this car will be looking for LOW LOW 9s ... Street car I drive everywhere!

Here is a few videos of it in action, keep in mind our average DA here is about 3000 ft at LEAST!

9.53

9.51

Street action, Chucks the belt at 7000 rpm and spins its way to victory lol.

Got the K member installed just waiting on Struts/Coil over to finish the front end.

Also hoping to get a mock up engine set in the car so I can determine what intake I am going to use.... I would like to use the edelbrock proflo XT if it will fit under my hood.

You are a madman! What is the target weight for this hell machine?

You aren't worried that this car has a lot more rust than your Mustang?

The target weight is 3000lbs with me in it. This car actually has VERY little rust and my mustang had a bunch more rust.

You found a low rust two door Merc. I was looking for one of those for a while and could not find one.

I had a red one before that was going to get the same treatment but I let it go and then ended up with this one.
