Default LS^ Valley Cover?

Anyone using the ls6 valley cover on a 5.3 or 6.0? I'm curious to know if it requires you to cut inside the block like on the ls1 blocks?

I don't have any problems with it on my LQ4 Block, it works great. I didn't know you had to cut on the inside of the Blocks..

I think he means if you have a block that won't accommodate the Ls6 oil-separator see http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=18 half-way down the page.

If you have a later block or use a later valley cover then this isn't an issue.

My question remains unanswered. So what year motors are considered gen-IV's, and how can I tell if my block is a genIV?

The LS2 Aluminum Engines and anything after that in the Cars are Gen IV. The L92 Truck Engines are Gen IV. There are some Iron Block Gen IV Engines too from what I have read.

What is your block?

The LS6 valley cover has the provisions for knock sensors whre all LS2 valley cover does not. Even though both have PCV vents in them.
