The Grand Prix G8 concept had an LS1 and awd. I just pulled this up from canadiandriver.com, it was the best thing I could find. I believe it used the drive train from an Aztek

I remember from a few years ago an s-10 on another site that started life as a 2 wheel drive xtreme ext. cab. He bought a 4WD frame to swap under it and I believe went with a bravada front axle and full size SUV awd t-case. sat pretty low and im guessing hauled ***!

trucks, a tv show from spike tv had a show with a couple of awd ls powered trucks. it was druing the time they had the 454ss pickup truck against the first gen lightening.
the truck was a ls powered typhoon and ls powered fullsize pickup, maybe twin turboed.
the ss trailblazer uses the 4L80E transmission.

There was someone on here (or perhaps it was NICO) that was dong an LSx 240sx with a Syclone transfer case and Skyline hubs. As I recall, he got everything in place but never finished the car.

Personally, I would like to find an old 1g or even a 2g eclipse gsx and see what I could make of it. Their engines and trans sit sideways, but there should be enough room to make it work. That would give you a bad ***, lightweight AWD set-up. Having owned a 2g with a 18psi street setting, I assure you the stock driveline could handle the power.

HSV Coupe 4 
An AWD LS1 powered GM car already existed. It was built in Australia. Look up the HSV Coupe 4. If the car looks kinda familiar it should. The body is the same as the Pontiac GTO that was imported to the US. I consider this car to the be best GM ever. I just wish they had imported this to the US. Here is a review of the HSV Coupe 4.

Yeah that's where the G8 name came from I guess. I'm guessing they called it the Grand Prix G8 Because an LS1 is 8 cylinder. So instead of an AWD LS1 car we got the G8 that replaced the GP all together. G8 GTs are bitching and all but an AWD LS1 car of some kind would be sweet.

Vety interesting. I stand corrected lol. I wasn't saying it was a joke just didn't make much sense calling it that. Most the time aussies develop it first then it hits here. They have some sweet cars there.
