Well, when you put it all down like that I guess the total does end up being pretty steep. I'm hoping through some diligent searches that I may be able to get in under that still. Maybe it's wishfull thinking but I'm thinking I can pull it off.

Thanks again for the help, I'll be sure to get plenty of photos up as soon as I get started.

Dont get discouraged. You can do it, its all in how long you wait to find the right deal.Here is my list.
2003 5.3 60k with tranny harness and all acc. freeish traded
Ls6 intake $150
Ls1 oil pan $75
LS1 water pump $45
Alternator bracket $10
Napa belt $55
Bolts $6
Power steering pump and bracket free thanks Joe
02 ws6 kmember complete w/ steering brakes sway bar and engine mounts $75
Complete stock fbody exhaust free thanks to board member
$416

items ive sold off the engine or car to offset the cost.
Truck harness and computer $160
Old lt1 $800
Lt1 computer $75
5.3 water pump $15
5.3 maf $25
5.3 Radiator $50

$1125
So right now i am $709 up
Stuff i need to buy
Computer and harness modified for 95 ta-$400
Corvette fuel regulator-$50
Trans adapter-$75
Starter-$50
Power steering lines-$50
Throttle cable-$75??
Misc lines and hoses $150
SO that is $850.
So right now the conversion will cost me $141 so even if you add in another $500 for things i dont know of thats only $641

If I went with a bone stock 5.3, stock T56, and LS7 Clutch Kit with everything that I did, I'm sure that I would be right at the $4k mark with everything that I know how to do..

motor - complete with pcm and harness - 325
intake manifold - 329
rails - 80
injectors - 25
90* elbow - 100
ls1 oilpan/pickup/windage tray - 225
alternator - 35
crank spacer - 50

if we add the rod bolts - 80
cam - paid 150 for it
that puts me at 1399

car would be running if it werent for me insisting on running -10 AN line the whole way for fuel feed and return....idk how you guys are getting 4k into yours just to make them run

You are factoring in things you sold..I didn't do that with mine cause that was money I had already technically invested..I just got some of it back. I sold my built LT1, Harness, PCM, and a couple of other things and made like $2300 back to invest into the LS Swap.
