New 67 Nova project
I have L92 on the engine stand. I'm going with a 600 TKO.
I have done a few LS swaps but with autos. The L92 will have a Texas Speed cam. No VVT. About 540 crank shaft HP.
Hope to have it ready for the Power Tour.
Roger K call me when you get time!
Look forward to eveyone's help.
1. Hacked together harness.
2. No bypass regulator for the fuel pump.
3. O2 sensors not hooked up.
The 2000 LS1 is supposed to have 7000 mile on it. It's coming out this week.
Both the engine and the 4L60E are very clean so the miles may correct.
I will post some pics of the engine compartment.
Should be fun.

Anyone seen a rack conversion like this. Brand perhaps?

Great idea pulling it out and starting over essentially, hopefully the rest of the car is solid to compensate for the engine work!
More pics!!!
It get's better.
Solid front motor mounts.
Solid 1/8" tubular trans cross member. One bolt one either side to hold it in.
Right side exhaust manifold up against the shock tower.
The ends of the manifolds cut off and exhaust tubing welded to it to the exhaust pipes.
The worst thing is the previous owner paid someone to do the work!
I've got the front sheet metal and sub frame pulled off. Heidt Super ride front sub and rear 4 link on the way.
The car is very nice other wise. No rust underneath. A little bit of mud at the bottom of the rear quarters. Average paint. Trim tag indicates a real SS car. Red with black interior. Auto.
I'm going to trendy once in my life and paint it just for this summer satin black. Next fall and winter I will blow it apart, strip all the paint and paint it properly.
I do have the LS1/4L60E out. Cranking it by hand it has good compression. I have the receipt when the previous owner bought it. 15,000 miles. It looks clean enough to be low mileage. With the harness such as it is, computer, engine /trans, drive shaft, alum radiator, front acessories less the power steering and alternator. I'm thinking about $2750? Any one interested PM me.
The stock front subframe is very nice. It has disc brake kit on it. The aftermarket steering rack was installed but never driven. All for sale at very good prices. PM me if interested.
The interior came out tonight. No suprises for once. Fenders and hood went to the body guy today for the satin black paint.
I don't think the previous owner did the work. He seemed like nice guy but by no means a hot rodder and had no clue how to put LS1 in a Nova.
