Default Lq4 with diesel 4l80e

http://cnj.craigslist.org/pts/1558575747.html will this trans bolt up to an 04 lq4. Without any adapters? I seems to be a diesel, 98 or newer based on the tag.

That 4l80e will bolt up, just be sure you're using the correct flywheel for that combo as GM used 2 different flywheels for the ls series engines and transmission. The 4l80e were used in 2500 and some 3500 series trucks I believe starting in 97'+.

is there any way to tell what flywheel i have i am using a 6.0l out of a 02 suburban. The crank has the spacer from the factory and the flywheel. i figure the trans that was behind it would be 60e but i have no way to tell. i am using a 4l80e and a stock converter. i layed the flywheel on my 80e converter and it lines up.. just not sure about the off set is correct.

I just got a response from the seller. The trans doesnt have the 12 oclock bolt hole . he is going to check on the year from the id tag.

Will this still bolt up?

It doesnt have the LS 360* bellhousing. Id assume it installs like the older SBC style trans with the flexplate spacer

It will still bolt up.

I have yet to see a 4L80E that has a fully enclosed Bell Housing. The've been out since the early mid 90's..like 1994ish from what I have read. That and I dont think they have the top hole either.

the 4l80e's do not have a full bell like the 4l60e.. the older cases do not have the 12 0'clock bolt hole.. the newer 80e's do have the 12 o'clock hole not sure what year they switched to the newer case i wana say 2000 but i may be wrong.

how about this trans.

1999 GMC VAN G2500 5.7 Cyl 4L80E 9HPP

i saw a pic, and it has the 12 oclock bolt hole. It has 2 bolt holes near 12 oclock.

Also, the converter has 6 bolts. Will this bolt up to an 04 lq4?

its def a newer trans, with the return line further back-curious about the tailshaft area, is the tailshaft missing, kind of hard to tell from the pic-some of the newer 4L80E's didnt have the 12 o clock bolt boss, like they cut it off for the body style, like maybe a Hummer
make sure it wasnt 4 wheel drive-just looks diff in the rear, need a better pic
with the correct converter snout length, flywheel setup, they will bolt up
