Its pretty much ready to be wired and tuned. Just got to get the money to pay alan to do it. Thats the only thing on the car I can't/wont do. I could have probably wired it with all the info found on here but its just easier to have him custom do it and make it look good.

Not sure if these have been posted, but here's a pic of the pile-o-parts, the stripped shortblock, and the block painting that insued the bordom of waiting for the heads/cam.

Been a busy week around the shop, just finishing up on Jared's '77 GMC 6.0/4L60E Swap! Here's a link to that for all interested:

We'll definately be documenting Dan's GT Build as we go. Should be solidly underway as soon as the parts show.
And for those of you wanting to know, that is not me painting. Also, I haven't read through the prior 5 pages of this thread, so if there are any questions asked I haven't replied to, might ask again.

forgive me if i didnt read right, but im a bit confused on those explanations.
you plan to use the mustang harness, but remove the pcm?
please keep us informed and up to date on the progress of this build. seems like ill be mimicking your process of getting the gauges to work![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)

At this point, (without cracking open a wiring diagram book yet) I plan on removing the stock Mustang PCM. As far as engine wiring, I would like to use the existing Mustang power feed circuits to run the LS drivetrain. This should be fairly simple, as all the Mustang's feeds are ran from the CCRM Module inside the passenger fender. I could leave the factory PCM in place, but theres really no point to leave it as it basically will only control the factory THEFT light in the cluster.
There is going to be a lot of customization in his wiring, no doudt. I want a SEAMLESS install into the Mustang. Inbreds are always held to a double standard by both sides.
No problem man! I'll document this as best as we can during the build, i'm sure this knowledge will come in helpful to others involved later on. As stated earlier, the pre '99 Stangs are really simplistic wiring wise. The PCM isn't really integrated into anything. He'll retain all his factory guages, MIL and DLC port no issue.
Dan will post some things here, but for more detailed and up to the minute build information, keep an eye here, under the Build Pics thread:
http://gbsb.proboards.com/index.cgi
On a side note, here's one of our buddy's budget build Stangs. This project had ONE goal in mind, 13's for less than $1500 TOTAL, including the car!

Build List:
TH350 Trans, with 3500? stall
Stock '00 5.3 with 80k on the clock
GBSB Tune
8.8" with 3.55's
M/T ET Streets (NOT included in the build cost)
Catless exhaust with ORH and Flows
Walbro 255LPH in tank pump (like $20 more than a stock replacement)
13.3@101, 2,000ft corrected D/A
How $1500 installed you ask? Well, there's a trick to this one. He was given the stang, but the stock 4 cyl was knocking. He also had the trans and stall already.
even knowing this, the cost would still be well below what an equivilant powerplant from the blue oval would cost. With a cam I expect this car to go high 12's no issue.
We call it projekt 351 Killah, lol.

Also, if we're gonna compare that way, we'd allow different factory heads on the 5.3. In this case, i'll take the LS6 headed 5.3 vs. the GT40P'd 306. If you were using a non factory cam, the 5.3 gets a cam also.
We could do this all day, let's try and keep this thread technical for all involved. I've opened a thread in the Trash Talk section on our forums, for this very subject.

Lol my 200rwhp boat anchor 133k mile full weight 4.6L NPI 2v went 13.6 @ Pittsburgh Raceway Park. Cool notch and I'd rock it but come on, it can do better than that!

With those times i'm assuming it's a stick car? What kind of trap speed did you throw down? Street Tires? What 60'?
Let's not also forget that track is at a lower altitude with denser air than us, although not by more than 700ish ft. Every stock NPI auto around here usually turns 14.8-15.3. PI's are usually 14.2-14.5, stock.
As you can tell my by username i'm no stranger to those cars, as i've owned both PI and NPI. And the car we're currently converting was a Nitrous'd, PI headed 4.6L car that we built. It ran 15.2 or so stock NPI, no slicks obviously. 13.4@103 on N/A PI converted with full bolton and 11.6@118 on a 175 shot out of the gate.

26x10.50.16LT ET Streets, stick car, 1.79 60', 97mph. One hell of a launch, 1.79 short time doesn't sound impressive, but for a 200whp 3400lb car with my 240lb *** in it, it is about as good as it will get.
Congrats on the ET, that's good for an NPI no doudt.
