im using the CTS oil pan for my swap, (left) and it seems to work better than the F body pan for my swap. the main difference the makes the CTS pan work so well is that it is more round in the front of the sump. on the F body pan the corners on the front of the sump were the first to hit the cross member in the Chevelle.
by raising the motor 1/2" i get better ground clearance with the oil pan and am able to move the motor further forward, away from the firewall. by the way, It is a pain in the butt to get the motor to squeeze down into the car with the CTS pan, and the tranny attached to it.
That is how I punched hole in my AC/Heater box.. kicking and pushing the engine down... LOL. That turned out to be a good thing, cause after that, I removed the box, cut it down and re-filbergassed it back and gained a 1/2" between the box and the head/headers.
