Smile Info. on wire harness

Just wondering does anyone have a good reliable source of information on how to convert a stock 5.3 truck harness?I know there is a lot to cut out and I am capable of doing the work myself just need to know what to keep and what to toss.I have one book from SA Design "How to swap Gm LS series engines into almost anything" they do have a section on it just don't know if it covers my engine it covers 1999-2002 LS1,was the 5.3 still considered a vortec or an LS1?
If anyone has some info or know where to look that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Go to www.lt1swap.com there is tons of info on what to remove and to make your harness stand alone.

Best thing is to get a set of wiring diagams for the harness and check it out for yourself. There is somewhat of a how-to in the FAQ sticky, but in reality each swap is going to be different. There should also be some pin-outs in the FAQ sticky.

Do what *bronx_peanut* told you and go to www.lt1swap.com. THEN READ IT. He has the truck pin outs and the instructions to do what you want to do.

The 5.3L truck and 5.7 LS1 are different. the 99-02 truck 5.3L and LS1 both use the same computer and very similar pinouts for it. However, the wiring harness is different and has differently labeled connectors. So you will need 5.3L information.
