what year of engine/harness I have? Hello everyone,I have a small question,I bought a 5.3 from my buddy who bought it from a wrecker.My buddy told me it is a 03,but I think it's older then that because of one thing,the pcm harness connectors are Blue/Red,from what i have read the harness connectors on 03-07 are Blue/Green and 99-02 were Blue/Red.Is my info. correct and am I safe to say that the one i got is 99-02?
Is there any failsafe way to check for sure?

o.k, I did some more digging and found this out.Egr valve was only on 5.3 until 2000,in 01 they removed them.The egr is pretty hard to miss since it bolted to behind the throttle body then tubed to the exhaust manifold.My intake does not have that provision for a egr tube,instead it has an Evap purge solenoid.My question i can only assume is did that purge solenoid take plce of the egr tube?Not a huge deal because it's all going any way but just trying to narrow down what year this thing is,since i don't now for sure if the pcm i have is the original from this engine?O the fun of auto wreckers..

The EVAP solenoid is there on all years. You have either an 01 or 02. I think GM went to MLS head gaskets in 02, which you can see as a small rivet that holds the head gasket layers together, front corner of engine block, where head meets block.

The intake is an LS6 (that was placed on Fbodies in 00-02)
The heads are 241
The block cast is: 12559378
can anyone help me identify?
