Vss I started to get some info on this in another thread I started, but I wanted to ask this here to get some input from all the swappers;
Do I have to run a VSS on my swap set up in order to get the computer to function correctly? I have been researching these swaps forever on another forum before I jumped on here and never ran across anything about a VSS until I was on here so I wanted to get some insight... Motor is basically an LS3 with a TH350 going behind it. Thanks in advance!

me too, me too! im running a 5.3/ th350. ive been told that without one, the motor will want to die when coming to a stop after driving. i would definetly like to find out for sure what we need.
I used Dakota Digital SEN-4160 on my TH400 behind my 5.3L vortec. Sensor is about $35.00 This sensor creates about 8000 pulse/mile. PCM will need programmed to read the lower number of pulses this sensor produces, but it does work. This fixed the idle issue when coming to a stop. This also allows the PCM to use a wider range of fuel trim cells. Over all better running engine.

Part# SEN-4160 has cable pass-through that allows you to still run a cable speedometer.
Part# SEN-01-1 goes on GM cable output of trans, NO pass-through for cable speedometer.
