Lightbulb Problems with drive by wire

Hello-

I have a 2006 5.3 just installed in my 72 blazer. It starts and runs very well, but i have no response from the pedal. and i have no idea where to begin. i know that my throttle body and pedal assemblies are from a 2006, but am unsure of the tac module. does anyone have wiring diagrams for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the TAC module has power, it has it's own pink wire that needs power. I didn't hook mine up and the throttle wouldn't move.

its just the weirdest thing- the throttle body must be getting power because when ignition is first turned on, it opens and slightly shutters in order to start. but other than that, no response from the petal. the pink wire does have power into the TAC.

They're supposed to move when the key is turned on. Sounds like you might have the wrong TAC, but I don't know how you go about finding out.

Sounds like you need to call a dealership parts counter and see what TAC part number you need.

I ran into the same problem a year ago, ended up being a combo of the pink power wire and a ground issue. One of my ground locations got a bad connection due to some painting I had done to the block prior to installation. These DBW harnesses are very touchy when it comes to their grounds.

Something to look into.

Yea this is what im thinking because i know im getting power. do you know which ground was affected by paint? maybe the one on the back of the block or? Many talk about all the grounds in this system, but i dont see any that just like come out of the harness looking for a ground?

A quik, cheap, easy way to get all the info on the vehicle you got the engine out of:
www.alldatadiy.com
Subscription is about #35/yr.. allows you to see all the systems on the vehicle, print anything you want. Has t/s sections, wiring diagrams, etc.
Well worth the price, IMO.
I have it for the 05 Hummer engine going in my 55.

Mine (2003) has two grounds at the rear of the engine, one on each side, not sure if they were originally bolted to the heads or block, but I bolted them to the heads.

It was one of the two that bolted to the back of the block. Sorry I don't remember which one.

If any ground locations have paint or just not super clean, you could have a problem.

They are suppose to bolt to the block, but it doesn't really matter as long as the ground is decent.

Yes, mine would fire right up and idle smooth as glass, just no gas pedal function.

Default tac module

i had that same problem and i sent my harness, tac, pcm, and foot pedal back to the vendor. from my exp., tac and foot pedal must be from same vehicle. i dont know if certain tac modules will work with other vehicles. its a real pain. you can always convert to DBC. that may be a hassle of your set up is for DBW.

The TAC module has two connections, one for the pedal harness..other hooks into main engine harness there are two styles the 9-pin connector the later ones are 6-pin.

TAC modules have to match up to the year range of the PCM AND the throttle body.

03-05 TAC module works with 03-05 truck TB and 03-05 PCM (BLUE/GREEN connectors)

01-02 TAC module works with 01-02 truck TB, 97-04 Vette TB, and 01-02 PCM (BLUE/RED connectors).

03-06 TAC modules have an aluminum mounting base, 01-02 TAC modules are all black plastic including the mounting base.
